MIMI MEFO BLASTS SAMUEL ETO’O OVER “DÉGAGE” COMMENT TO JOURNALIST 🇨🇲

Cameroonian journalist and MMI News founder Mimi Mefo has openly criticised FECAFOOT president Samuel Eto’o after he allegedly told a reporter to “dégage” during a public appearance.

Mimi Mefo said she had previously defended Eto’o against critics, arguing that the problems in Cameroonian football existed long before his arrival at FECAFOOT.

However, she described his reported treatment of the journalist as unacceptable, stressing that public figures do not have the right to decide which reporters can ask questions at public events.

She also condemned the silence of journalists’ unions, warning that intimidating media professionals in public spaces could undermine press freedom in Cameroon.
