Lennoxs Legacy Rescue is a foster based rescue with a main focus on horses and dogs who have been affected by many forms of abuse and neglect as well as over breeding situations. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, educate and ultimately find permanent placement in homes bested suited for each animal's specific needs.
What a trooper Roxie is. She's eating dinner now and just as happy as a clam.

A little background since we are home and she is resting. Roxie went into the shelter with a painful back leg at that time, they did x-rays. It was recommended by their veterinarian, that her leg be amputated. Roxie was then transferred to us along with her x-rays and medical history. And upon completion and review of all medical records and x ray's our vet determined that she indeed needed her like amputated.
Today was her scheduled surgery, during the surgery, we were able to get a better look at her leg and determined that this is more than likely a deformity from birth and not an accident. Because we don't have her full history. This is our very best guess and based on what the findings, this is what was in her best interest. She has been painful in non weight bearing, since her arrival at the shelter. She would much rather be carried Vs trying to walk on it. So for a very long time, she has been on 3 legs. This will not impact her quality of life in a negative way, this will definitely improve her quality of life. She is small and young, 3 years old and 6.1 #, and an excellent surgical candidate.
For today, she's resting comfortably with her pain meds on board and all the snuggles she could want. Once healed, she will be ready for a forever family to love and enjoy.
