The older I get, the more I realize healing isn’t about becoming someone new, but about finding the kid you left behind & inviting him back to play with you.

For a couple years now, I dedicate songs to my inner self. 🫣
To the little boy with those wild dreams.
To the teenager who survived.
To the adult who’s still figuring it out.

I just think that little boy would’ve loved knowing how his story would turn out.

For the first time in a long time, I think all three of versions of me are singing along to the same songs. 💫

And I feel so lucky to have you in my life. I had forgotten the warmth of a family, or maybe I never had it to even know what it felt like, but your thoughtfulness, kindness & love have make my life a lot brighter, even on the days you drive me crazy 🤪, you have taken the task to make me feel like family & I am beyond grateful.
