My Sober Thing

One thing about addiction AND sobriety that I have learned quite thoroughly is this specific thing right here. Real- True- GOOD relationships don’t magically happen, they take a lot of time, sweat, tears, dedication and heard work from both partners to make it work. And when I say make it work, no I’m not talking about “settling” or “forcing something” I’m simply talking about being human and admitting that not everything will perfectly fall into place. Real, mature love takes work and two adults to do it. That’s something that unfortunately doesn’t come while you are in the midst of your addictions for the most part, and if it does you are one of the very lucky few who found their saving light in their literal darkness. If you have that someone, and they treat you like you’ve never dreamed of being treated before by anyone else, then hang on to them tightly because baby I promise you there more then likely won’t be another like them.
