It’s time for a long-overdue introduction!
Hi friends,
I’m Julia, the founder of Luminous Lines Creative.
When I started this business 10 years ago, it was just me at my desk specializing in brand design!
While I loved it (and still do!) I also realized how limited the impact of a new brand was when it wasn’t then applied across a business’ marketing channels. But my clients just didn’t have time to do that, and they were tired of having to outsource to so many different professionals to get the job done.
That’s when I knew it was time for this little business to grow.
Luminous Lines is now a marketing boutique made up of a team of specialists who collaborate to support our clients with everything from brand and website design through to copywriting, SEO and monthly social media management.
I love that we can now offer clients a “full service” approach that includes:
🖋️ Brand Design & Messaging
🖥️ Website Design & Copy
📱 Social Media Management
✉️ Email marketing
🔎 SEO
If you’ve been here since the early days, thanks for being a part of my business journey. If you’re new to following Luminous Lines — welcome, and thanks for allowing me to show up in your feed!

Are you a Canva user? If so, you'll want to save this post for later.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I've recently come to realize how powerful it can be (when used properly as a tool) for our clients to maintain their own brand assets.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
No matter the stage in business, I feel like everyone should feel empowered to manage their brand with ease. So, today I'm sharing a few tips that, when implemented, will not only eliminate the guesswork but will help you create a stronger and more consistent brand presence.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How to use free templates like a pro:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1- Before selecting templates, create a "cheat sheet" file that includes 3-4 font styles (for your headings and paragraph styles) and your color palette. If you subscribe to Canva Pro - you can do this by creating a Brand Kit.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2 - Take the "less is more" approach when selecting templates.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Limiting use to 3-5 templates is the easiest way to keep things consistent. If you source a new template for every post or need, you will find it challenging to maintain a constant visual direction.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3 - Create a master template that you always start from.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Once you have chosen your templates - create a file that includes templates that you have edited with your chosen fonts and colors. Before creating posts, create a copy from this file so you always leave the master un-edited.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4 - Keep it clean.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When designing posts for Instagram, it can be tempting to cram a full quote, or all the things into a graphic in an effort to grab your viewers attention - but I recommend using the graphic as a visual teaser. Have a long quote or testimonial that you want to feature? Pull in the most powerful sentence and leave the rest in your caption. Believe it or not, this has more impact. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
