This is a powerful documentary that highlights the history and legacy of the Cherokee Male and Female Seminaries, the students known as the Seminarians, and the Cherokee Nation leaders whose commitment to education helped shape our Nation’s future. Their lasting impact on Cherokee education, leadership and culture is reflected in the work of historians and the recollections of Seminarian descendants.
The public screening will be held May 7 at 2 p.m. in the Webb Auditorium at Northeastern State University, located in Tahlequah. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on the making of the film and the history of the Seminarians.
This event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.
