Adhering to AA Standards is a legal requirement for government agencies and federally funded organizations. But even if your business isn't among those requiring it, making your content accessible to all should still be your priority.

The rules are specific: Small text needs a ratio of 4.5:1 or higher. Larger text (18 points+ OR bold, 14 point+) can have a ratio of 3:1. Graphic Objects or UI Components also need to meet a ratio of at least 3:1
