FIVE STARS! RECOMMEND!

30/05/2024

It feels like every day you wake up with a puppy, you can actually see how they've grown overnight. Lil' Edie, a purebred Hungarian Viszla, has added an inch or two to her legs in the past week alone.

Acclimating a pup (or any dog, really) to a leash makes their photoshoot go more smoothly. However, babies -as we know- tend to resist so it becomes a game of gentle persuasion and going with the flow to make each shot look as if they're the calm, darling in control dogs they will one day become. ((Fingers crossed)) 😉

You know the trope where doubters say, "It can't be done!" then the protagonist nails it, proving them wrong, leaving everyone in awe?

That's a lil bit of how I approached Edie, a 12 week old vizsla pup assignment. If you know, you know, but if you're new to the breed then fasten your seatbelt because they can be pretty high strung and the young ones are just exhausting...to even watch.

The trick is to meet them wherever they are, remaining very flexible. Once you dial in their motivators (usually food or praise) then you've got something to work with.

Honestly, even I wasn't too sure our team of 4 adoring humans were going to be able to nail her down, but .. you be the judge. 😉
