I’m just about wrapped up with my new shop cabinets and I wanted to give a sneak peak! I had a lot of old mahogany deck boards sitting up in my lumber racks and I figured that it’s been a while since the last time I used some for my sons’ bedroom shelves. I milled up a few boards and used it as the edge banding on my cabinet tops. It looks pretty stinking fancy if you ask me. I don’t know what I’ll do when I run out of the mahogany. 😩 maybe it’s overkill but if these boards could hold up being decking in the northeast then I figured they would be perfect for the workshop. Finally got all of the drawers and trays installed on the new shop cabinets. Just finished gluing up the second set of boards that will become the countertops for the cabinets. The finish line is within reach, and getting closer every day.

Making more progress on the shop cabinets. Today is drawer day in the shop. Since these are shop cabinets, I went with 1/2” plywood boxes with 1/4” plywood bottoms, and I am using a decent plywood rather than the very expensive stuff. I’m not planning on storing a massive amount of weight in these drawers and trays, but I know they will hold up to anything I put in them. And the best part… they are cheaper to build. Can’t beat that!

One thing that I do love using is this new cordless glue gun. It sits in the charger and then I can pick it up and use it cordless for a few minutes before I need to return it to its charger. Great tool!!!

I’m hoping that The Force will help me get these shop cabinet bases level and square. Slowly making some progress on new cabinets for the shop. I desperately need the organization upgrade as soon as possible.
