Monday, June 15th from 6:00-8:00PM at Christina Park ➡️ Join us in a collective effort to voice concern for the unethical eviction of dozens of people from Christina Park. These people were forced to gather in the park months ago by Wilmington itself, and many have no other place to go if they are evicted. Let the city know that we cannot evict our neighbors without a clear long-term plan to get them housed and treated.

These things are devastating to hear, but it's the reality of thousands of Delaware residents. I plan to push bills that advocate for affordability so you can celebrate your community and loved ones without a second thought.

SD-14 represents two counties—a transitory space for many Delawareans. It exists below the canal and has three bridges at the lowest parts of New Castle County that many Delawareans don’t even cross.
It represents Delaware's complicated relationship with growth and irresponsible land development. These perils are evident within physical and social infrastructures, where we build new communities but fail to support existing communities who have sacrificed their peace for mass development and corporations.
But it also represents potential in Kent county, the heart of Delaware, a burgeoning population craving to be engaged, to connect with one another, to have more opportunities. Who moved for the quiet and the affordability and are concerned of losing that everyday. Many folks have a house in SD-14, but it's time to make it feel like a home.

Impactful, lasting change can happen at the local level. If we want national progressive leaders, we have to invest in local candidates!

This year is as important as ever to affirm that as hard fights come our way––as long as we have each other––we will be able to weather any storm. Growing up gay in a blended family split across state lines taught me early that community extends beyond your household. It's your neighbors, your chosen family, the people who show up when things get hard. We know corporations, this president, or the Supreme Court won’t save us, but we’ll save us.

New Castle County recently increased property taxes by 17%. Senate District 14 represents both parts of New Castle and Kent County. Everyday as I’m knocking on doors, residents are expressing the enormous strain that government officials are placing on them. Every family is trying their best to take care of one another and we are seeing government remain unresponsive to the high economic demands that are facing everyone that calls Delaware home. Without a plan to reduce living expenses, this tax increase is going to drive more and more Delawareans to the brink.
We disapprove of any tax increase on Delawareans that is not coupled with real policy proposals to increase wages or provide direct investments and assistance for Delawareans that are already facing increased property taxes, energy prices, record foreclosures, and healthcare costs.

The "Delaware Way" has always been neglecting the democratic process...through the lens of corporate PACs, real estate moguls, and big business. Not anymore––let's fight this together. I'll need your help. Donate today so we can shake up the current system.

Muslims within Delaware represent a broad, diverse, and interconnected community that shows up for one another in the spirit of coming together. We hope these traditions of faith remain ever present throughout our state.
