Kylie Yoshida Calligraphy

Our marriage announcement card was designed and brought to life by the talented team at . And they couldn’t have done it more perfectly. Without giving too much away as they are still slowly making their way across the world; Read below in the significance of the design details:
The main card is letterpressed ; my delicate spot calligraphy and a tonal impression of the Beverly Hills Courthouse where my husband and I wedded officially. Illustrated by Sofia,
Back of our main card is a photo of us shot at El Matador beach, Malibu. And a couple cute surprises.
For our detail card, I wanted to write our story as well as create an art piece for our guests to keep, frame & admire. So I asked Sofia to design a very special batik print for me. The batik kebaya was what I wore as a flight attendant when I met my husband. I wanted to incorporate each flower that represents us; hibiscus (for Malaysia), sakura (for Japan) and Californian poppy (for California).
We also picked up a brush and wrote our last names in Chinese/Japanese calligraphy to be added very subtly as part of our family reunion.
Last but not least, calligraphy addressing on the outer envelope because it’s nice to be addressing your own family and friends for a change. 🥰

Today marks 2 years of officially starting Kylie Yoshida Calligraphy. I remember feeling so hopeful and invigorated when I booked my first big gig and said to myself, “Wow, I want to keep doing this!” And so I did! Some days I still can’t believe, I started it all and made it this far working with retail brands, bespoke stationers, small businesses and clients from all walks of life. It is truly humbling that people want to work with me and appreciates my craft that I started as a self-taught newly found passion. Thank you for all your support no matter how big or small during these past couple rollercoaster years. And I’ll keep doing what I do, baby steps! 🥰🥳
