A tough lesson from a recent transaction.
I’m currently working with a buyer who decided to back out of a home purchase. Even after all of the guidance, conversations, and strategies we discussed to help them navigate the challenges and make it through this situation, they ultimately decided not to move forward.
As a result, they’re losing their earnest money deposit and have already paid for inspections on a home they are no longer buying.
Buying a home is exciting, but it’s also stressful, emotional, and comes with real consequences. Once you’re under contract, there is money, time, and legal obligations involved. That’s why I encourage buyers to be financially, mentally, and emotionally prepared before starting the process.
My job isn’t to pressure anyone into buying a home. It’s to educate, advise, and help clients make informed decisions. Sometimes, despite all the conversations and guidance, people still choose to walk away—and that choice can be costly.
