This goes against our human nature, that is why we can't do it from that nature. But desire to lash out, and hurt them back. We can only begin to do this when the fruits of the Holy Spirit are in operation in our lives, which is God's nature in us.
I wont lie, at times it is still hard to not override 'doing the right' thing and it feels like it's burning in my guts to let His nature rule.

hmm, well, that is exactly what is happening, this nasty ole flesh nature and carnal mind are being burned out by our obedience and power of God, to mature us, and mold us into the strong Godlike person we really are, and that is a good thing. Thank you God, you love me enough to not leave me in my ugliness.
