Jeff Healey sadly passed away on this day in 2008 at the age of 41. Healey was a gifted player and was blind since he was a year old due to a rare type of cancer called retinoblastoma. Healey was an amazing player laying his guitar on his lap to play it. A great loss to the guitar and music community, holds a special spot for me. When I lived in New England I walked by the TV and I saw him on Arsenio Hall I just said WTF is this. Wow I need to see this guy, that was incredible what he did. So I had picked up the local rock rag and took it upstairs to my bedroom checking out who was coming to town, In 2 days he was playing the Living Room in Providence. I was right in front of him right there. The incredible bends he made with his thumb... WTF it was incredible. To get that power a regular guitar player would need 2 or 3 fingers. Met him after the show and drank Molson with him. Just really cool person he is about my age. For decades he was never in my area. Finally I caught him one more time on his final tour in Scottsdale many years later. Our conversation was intense. HE offered me a job working for him. When we started talking about touring and I started giving him examples of the do's and don'ts he said I would like you to work for my team. Gave me his managers name and number. Shook hands. So I called them up and I think it was a woman. Jeff told me he spoke to you and he was hoping you would call. He wanted me to help market his tours, and I don't mean post flyers. He passed away not too long after before his next tour happened. It was a really AWESOME compliment. I also had my own business to run to it was really too much for me. 2 bands have offered me jobs. Jeff and String Cheese Incident. SCI mouths just dropped when we started talking about the music business. All I know is what I've seen and I have seen a plethora of shows! Being a show promoter has crossed my mind. I would like to manage P***y Riot. Jeff Healey gone to soon it really bothered me when I heard he was gone. Not enough footage of him. FYI he was supposed to have one of the largest record collections of a private individual. Wow was Jeff great!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never post food, but this is different. We had it here about 20 years ago linguica pizza from a California company. They lasted about a year. They ended up closing. They are back again. Nothing like the linquica pizza from New Bedford, MA. I would not have guessed this was linguica by eating it...yeeeoooww!.
