💔 Our sweet Sesame 💔

Sesame came to us from one of the worst hoarding situations we’ve ever seen — over 65 chihuahuas living under one roof in conditions no dog should ever have to endure. She spent her life knowing neglect instead of love, fear instead of comfort.

A few months ago, we thought her story had finally gotten its happy ending.

We celebrated when she was adopted. We truly believed we had found her perfect forever home — a place where she could finally relax, be spoiled rotten, feel safe, and simply be home.

Today, that family brought Sesame back to us with little to no explanation and surrendered her back to our rescue.

And our hearts are shattered for her.

Sesame is one of the gentlest, sweetest souls you’ll ever meet. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. Right now she’s scared, confused, and trying to understand what she did wrong.

The answer is absolutely nothing.

She survived a lifetime of neglect. She learned to trust again. She opened her heart. She thought she was finally home.

And now she’s been abandoned all over again.

We can’t change what happened today, but we can make her a promise: We will not let you down again, Sesame.

There is truly nothing like watching a once scared, broken, and fragile rescue blossom after finding their forever home. Seeing them go from unsure and afraid to confident, loved, and thriving is the reason we keep going through the hard days.

Every late-night rescue, every vet visit, every foster home, every fundraiser, every tear shed—it all becomes worth it when we get to witness moments like these.

The feeling of knowing an animal who once had nowhere to go is now safe, cherished, and exactly where they belong is impossible to put into words.
