Meet Mary Beatrice Davidson Kenner (1912–2006) — the genius who created everyday innovations that changed lives, especially for women. She patented the sanitary belt (a forerunner to the modern pad), along with inventions like the toilet paper holder, a shower back washer, and a carrier for walkers and wheelchairs. Despite facing discrimination that delayed recognition of her work, Mary never stopped creating. She went on to hold five patents—more than any other African American woman of her era.
