If you missed last Friday's Foundations here's our recap of Imam Eldar's lecture on Building a Culture of Sabr or Patience

A beautiful event with Imam Eldar at St Louis Islamic Center Nur with
Translation:
In our congregation, we had the special honor of hosting Pillars STL, a local organization that aims to strengthen faith and build community among Muslim adults and young families.
On this occasion, our imam Eldar Malkić gave a beautiful and inspiring lecture on patience, reminding us how important this trait is in everyday life, both in moments of trial and in moments of success. Through examples from the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him), he emphasized that patience is not just waiting, but an active force that shapes us and leads us to good.
Tonight, the importance of mutual cooperation and connections in the community was once again confirmed. We thank our guests for their visit and look forward to future meetings and joint activities.

Ramadan Reminder #5
Our final duaa is one that reminds us of why we fast in Ramadan. Our goal when fasting isn't to only abstain from food and drink, rather to rewire our brain to being conscious of Allah in every task of ours. Taqwa not only serves as a tool for witnessing gratitude in our lives, but also as a shield to keep us away from sin and displeasure of Allah SWT.
We turn to Allah SWT to help us maintain our taqwa we have gained in Ramadan and let it continue through the rest of the year. And we ask Him SWT, as the Creator of our souls, to protect and purify them.

Ramadan Reminder #4
Laylatul Qadr is the Night of Power. Aishah RA asked the Prophet PBUH what she should make duaa for on Laylatul Qadr and he shared with this duaa.
This duaa is often translated using the word 'forgive' or 'pardon' but in reality "a'fw" is the act of erasing. We ask to Allah SWT to erase from our book of deeds any trace of sins we may have committed. Not only to forgive us for the sin and protect us from it's consequences, but also eliminate it entirely from our record. The word a'fw being used here implies that these feeds will not be brought forth in front of us on the Day of Judgement.
This also serves as a reminder that Allah SWT is the all powerful, He is the Most Forgiving, but we must do our part in humbling ourselves and call to Him to help us move away from our sins.

Ramadan Reminder #3
This duaa was taught by the Prophet SAW to Mu'adh ibn Jabal RA, a scholar amongst the companions one day when the Prophet SAW said to him: "By Allah, I love you Mu'adh! And I advise you to never leave off saying this duaa and the end of every prayer". Narrated by Abu Dawud.
The Prophet SAW sharing his love for Mu'adh first was a way for him to build trust and attention of Mu'adh and let him know that the Prophet SAW only wishes the best for him.
Remembering Allah SWT is not just something done with the tongue, rather it is an act that comes from the heart. By asking Allah SWT to aid us in His remembrance, we are asking for help in recognizing His blessings, help in keeping our intentions pure, and help in understanding the religion better to be able to worship Him in the best way possible.

Ramadan Reminder #2 is a duaa to be recited at the beginning of Salah.
Abu Hurayrah RA noticed the Prophet SAW would recite something before beginning Surah Fatihah in his Salah, so he asked what he SAW was saying - the Prophet SAW shared this duaa with him.
The duaa reiterates the value of seeking Allah SWT's forgiveness to purify our heart and soul and further asks to keep us distant from future sins.
There are many duaas to recite between takbir and reciting Surah Fatihah shared by the Prophet SAW. It is best to learn a few and alternate between them
How much are we rewarded for fasting?

This Ramadan .stl is sharing duaas to add to your daily ibaadah/worship.
This duaa for seeking forgiveness was taught by the Prophet (SAW) and recorded in Sahih Bukhari.
After teaching the duaa, the Prophet said, "Whoever says this in the day with conviction and dies before evening, he will be among the people of Paradise. Whoever says this in the night with conviction and dies before morning, he will be among the people of Paradise."
It is recommended to recite this duaa in your morning adhkaar after Fajr salah and your evening adhkaar before Maghrib Salah.
