"We can do that!!!"

01/13/2014

To help our friends stay safe on the roads this winter we offer this safety information .... In watching reports on "Black Ice" and how to know your driving on it, Everyone has failed to mention one of the easiest ways to tell if your driving on it, I was an OTR truck driver for 25 years and one of the sure signs to watch for is the mist spray coming off of the tires of trucks and cars in front and around you, If the pavement looks wet with spray coming off tires tells you the water on the road is liquid rain, but if Pavement looks wet with no spray coming off tires tells you the water on the road is black ice. and when you notice your on ice, don't panic, make no frantic adjustments, slowly ease up on the throttle, so as not to loose traction, slow down and leave lots of extra room in front of you, because it takes 4 times the stopping distance on ice as it does on wet pavement
Hope this helps,
if you have any tips message it to us and we'll post it and pass it on.
Be safe out there
