Pictured above is the WVLP 103.1 FM live broadcast studio. It is located in the lower level of the Neighbors Place building at 454 College Avenue in Valpo.

WVLP is an all-volunteer community radio station with a signal strength capable of broadcasting to all of Valpo on conventional radio, or to all of the world over the internet at wvlp.org.

For a number of years WVLP broadcast The Morning Show from 7-00 - 8:00 AM Monday through Friday. This was a news show: international, national, state and local news. The show hosts - working in pairs each day - gathered stories from daily newspapers and the internet, and simply read them. Easy.

Then the pandemic hit. People stayed home. Hopefully, we are past that now.

Today we have one team doing The Morning Show on Wednesdays each week.

I am writing because we believe this news service is valued. There is no other locally owned media outlet in Valpo. We are it. As a service to the community, our vision is a volunteer driven, all news show, five days a week.

So. We are seeking individuals motivated to give an hour a week (plus a little preparation time) to become show hosts - readers of the news - one day per week. We would train you, let you sit in with the Wednesday crew, and give you the microphone on you selected day.

(FYI: WVLP is a project of Project Neighbors which holds the FCC license to 103.1 FM. Project Neighbors is a registered 501c3 public charity in the state of Indiana.)

If you are interested, please let me know via return email, and WVLP will make you a radio star!
