Relevant Expeditions

This is from our Relevant Expeditions Director in Cambodia. He is a joy to work with and does amazing work.

Thanks to our partners, Relevant Expeditions has drilled over 600 Fresh Water Wells in Cambodia. The need is so great, and we could drill 2000 more.

A new study found that over 4.4 billion people in poorer countries lack safe drinking water, as it's contaminated by animal and human waste. In Cambodia, much of the standing water is also poisoned by pesticides from the rice fields. Drinking contaminated water is very dangerous. It can cause diseases like diarrhea, typhoid, Hepatitis A, E. coli, and Salmonella, rashes, and skin diseases, which can all be deadly, especially for kids.

With each new village well, people will have clean water to drink, eliminating the fear that it will make them and their children sick. The people can also wash clothes, cook, bathe, water livestock, and grow vegetables with the water from these wells. The women and children will not need to spend countless hours each day carrying water from stagnate ponds or rivers for household use.
