**Florida's annual "new laws" day is here! 🇺🇸🌴**
More than 100 new Florida laws take effect July 1. A few that caught my attention:
🚗 Driving without a valid license can now count toward habitual traffic offender status.
🏡 Some small, non-structural home improvement projects under $7,500 may no longer require a building permit (with important exceptions like electrical, plumbing, structural work, and many flood-zone properties).
🐶 Pet buyers get stronger consumer protections.
🎓 Some students can count marching band toward both a PE requirement and a fine arts credit.
♿ Certain Floridians with qualifying permanent disabilities can now receive lifetime disabled parking permits instead of renewing every four years.
🍃 And yes... Florida now says local governments can't ban gas-powered leaf blowers. 🤷♀️
Some of these seem like common sense. Others... well... it's Florida. 😂
