From a six-week-old stray in my grandparents’ NorCal backyard then to St Louis then making it back to NorCal for her final six weeks… it feels like things came full circle. ā¤ļøā¤ļø love my Sasha girl always.

FIRST DAY IN THE BOOKS!!! It’s been so chaotic moving across the country (with my plants, a dog and two cats in tow, mind you) and starting work that I forgot to tell folks where I’m at now.

I’m officially the new Weekend Evening Anchor at ABC7 Eyewitness News KGO-TV in San Francisco. I started yesterday 3/23, absolutely honored to work at a legendary local O&O station in such a beautiful area.

I’m beyond happy to call the Bay Area home now and to be close to my mom’s side of the family (just a short-ish drive to Monterey).

I won’t be on-air for a bit as I’m training most of this first week, but you bet I’ll let you know when I’m on!

P.s. thank you all for the warm wishes from St. Louis and even Charleston. Missing my family in the St. Louis area, too (especially my grandma, aka my #1 fan). I’m feeling the love!

Well … my time in St. Louis is coming to an end.

I grew up in the Metro East watching KMOV Channel 4, and I never imagined I would move back to my hometown of O’Fallon after leaving for grad school ... but life has a way of throwing you for a loop. In 2023, I came back to be with my mom, and I was blessed with nearly a full year by her side before she passed. That time is something I will forever be grateful for.

I was going to move back here regardless of whether a job in local news worked out, but I am so thankful that KMOV took a chance on me 2.5 years ago. More importantly, after my mom passed, the work family I formed here supported me in ways I cannot fully put into words. The kindness and grace I was shown will stay with me forever.

To be a journalist in the region that raised me is something I will never take lightly. Thank you to my friends, neighbors and viewers that liked me enough to let me in their homes ... and even the haters in my email inbox (I read everything, btw).

While I can't officially share what's next just yet, I want it to be crystal clear that this is 110% my own decision. That said, it doesn’t make saying this any easier: I will be moving closer to my mom’s side of the family and beginning a new journey in California in just a few weeks, a dream my mom and I once hoped to complete together. She may not be here physically, but I know she is still with me. This next chapter is as much for her as it is for me.

I wish nothing but the best for St. Louis (the whole region) and for KMOV. The future here is bright in ways we do not even know yet.

I think this post is turning into a journal entry, so I'm going to stop while I'm ahead ... ā€˜stay tuned’ as they say…..

May or may not be tears in my eyes …
