Rajin Edge of Darkness is a high fantasy, sci-fi 10-part graphic novel series that focuses on a young woman named Skyfyre who finds herself stuck between worlds after a mysterious object crash-lands into the forest nearby. Think D&D in space—as Skyfyre’s life collides with that of a group of uniquely interesting and quirky aliens including a bird-man hybrid sky pirate and a goblin like creature who hailed from a swamp planet. Together they must overcome their individual traumas and pasts while traveling to the ends of the Universe to stop a growing force of dark magic that is threatening all life and the balance of ancient magic.
This series has been a long time coming since as far back as high school when I wanted to do a comic series about a dragon rider. Lots of brainstorming over several years on my way to and from class led to me taking a pencil to paper in 2016 which has led to the next chapter that I’m about to walk into. That being page/panel illustration!! I’m really nervous as the perfectionist in my head still wants to procrastinate, but I’m running out of excuses. The Book 1 script is almost edited out and I am practicing and about to teach myself Clip Art Studio so in the next month I’m doing it!! Still a year out until anyone sees anything posted online though I’m sure but with the world going where its going, I want to bring something that brings hope and escapism to my friends and family and strangers alike while getting to see at least some if not all my dream come true.

Just a friendly reminder there is an important side quest today at theARTScentered where you get to customize some leather coasters, bookmarks, and keychains to look like they came off of a slain dragon. A great trinket to follow you on your adventures. We are going to be at the old library branch off Mill Plain from 6:00-8:00 pm. Just go up the ramp to the main door and ask about the leather crafting workshop from Dragon Half!!! Walk ins are welcome. All materials will be provided!!!

Dragon Half Art will be here with !!! Come check us out for cute flowery and dragon themed handcrafted items!!! Also going to be selling copies of Natalia Howe’s new book, the first part of an ongoing teen fantasy series titled Surface Tension a mix of ATLA and Percy Jackson!!!! Lastly there will be activities for the kids and adults alike including stamping your own leather coaster or bookmark with a variety of floral or scale patterns with an added option for a silicon bead keychain or to paint your leather project!!!

Just finished a complete redesign of Fenrir the Phoenix - scrapped that whole concept for something way more original!
Meet **Pebbles**, a Lithovox Acetidus (translates to “rock eater whose voice is corrosive and hot”). Trish named her after watching this freshly-hatched menace immediately start crunching gravel like popcorn. She’s basically a pteranodon that processes phosphorus from sedimentary rocks in her gullet - the same way birds use grit to digest food, except Pebbles swallows marine life whole. That rocky grit dissolves into a waxy mass she can spit, and the second it hits air? Ignition. Fiery na**lm meets phosphoric acid in the worst way possible. Her egg was rescued from smugglers trying to weaponize her, and Jessie discovered you can feed her enchanted crystals to modify the effects - flash citrine causes blinding explosions, void obsidian creates magical EMPs. She’s just big enough for Trish to ride and has become essential to the Rajin crew. Sometimes you gotta scrap your first draft completely.
