Emily & Ryan
This was supposed to be one video, but I ended up ranting for 20 minutes, so welcome to our new series! 😅
Here’s Part 1 of 4 (I think).
Carry-on only travel isn’t as bad or limiting as I thought it would be, but the learning curve has been steep.
My first recommendation: pack one hair tool.
Most hotels/rentals already have hair dryers, so that’s never something I pack.
But you’d be surprised how much space hair tools take up!
I also have a travel-size hair brush. It’s probably not saving as much space or weight as I think, but it’s so tiny and cute!

If you know, you know! 😭
I don’t want to watch, but I can’t look away!
What’s crazy is, this is one of my dad’s favorite movies. I’d seen parts of it over the years, but never watched the whole thing in one sitting.
We went to Mexico with my parents last year, and I decided I would watch Forrest Gump on the plane.
I was NOT emotionally prepared. Not even a little.
Who is that girl sobbing in 14D?
It’s me. Watching Forrest Gump.

Do you agree?? 👀
Tell me why I ALWAYS pack a sweatshirt for the departing flight from Cancun!
I don’t know if it’s because it’s so warm outside, the AC inside feels extra cold, or what. But I’m telling you, I’m always FREEZING in the Cancun Airport.
I can’t count the number of times I’ve almost bought an airport blanket! 😂

We spent the day at Mayan Beach Club in Isla Mujeres, and it was great!
We recommend getting there early. It was way more chill at 10am compared to 2pm!
Minimum spend was $700 pesos per person (around $40 USD) in food and drink to reserve a chair.
The food was great! We loved the tacos. Drinks were good, too.
There was a little seaweed, but not bad.

There are a few places we HAVE to visit in Isla Mujeres, and this is one of them.
Tiny Gecko! 🦎
It’s located on the opposite side of the island from the Ultramar Ferry, and it only takes a few minutes to walk there.
It was an even shorter walk from where we stayed this trip, at Villas San Miguel.
The views are incredible! It’s a nice atmosphere for a drink and a snack. It gets a little busier later in the day, but it’s never uncomfortably packed.
The live music in the evenings makes it extra fun!
