Severe weather is affecting several state parks in southern Illinois. Please monitor IDNR’s closures page throughout the weekend for updates on park closures and restricted access, as well as river closures: https://dnr.illinois.gov/closures/currentclosuresofdnrsitesandareas.html
🌧 Fort Massac State Park in Massac County is closed until further notice due to flooding.
🌧 Access to Fort Defiance State Park in Alexander County is restricted.
🌧 Phone service has been disrupted at several parks in southern Illinois. If you can’t get through, please try again later.
🌧 At Wayne Fitzgerrell State Recreation Area on Rend Lake in Franklin County, the campground is open with the exception of Hickman’s Point and Lakeview. Shelter 4 is closed due to flooding.
