Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. left an indelible mark on this world. As a lifelong Chicagoan, his impact was tangible and accessible to me. I didn’t just read about him or watch him on the news; I witnessed his contributions firsthand. He was always gracious and receptive whenever I had the privilege of being in his presence.
While some may not have always agreed with his politics, his accomplishments and legacy are undeniable.
May he rest in eternal peace. My sincerest condolences to the Jackson family and to all who knew and loved him.
On Wednesday, hundreds of the Illinois Federation of Teachers members from across Illinois traveled to the State Capitol to urge legislators to fully fund our public schools. I had the opportunity to go with the Chicago Teachers Union and capture the day in action. Here’s a snippet what I saw.

I'm so immensely grateful for the opportunity to work with these most deserving workers! It was an honor to be part of the team that worked side by side with them in the midst of a horrendous anti-union campaign led by MSI management.
Saturday, the determination and perseverance of this unit was rewarded with a clear VICTORY with their union election with !
