With the temperatures climbing today, we packed up Missy, Ronald, and Vanya and headed to the river.

Missy is an absolute water fanatic. Toss a bumper, and she'll happily retrieve it over and over without ever getting tired. She is a strong, confident swimmer and absolutely lives for days like this.

For Ronald, this was only his second or third trip to the river, and today was a big milestone—he swam! There was plenty of enthusiastic splashing, chopping at the water, and figuring things out, but he did it. Afterward, I went into the water with him to help him start understanding how to use his rear end more effectively. Swimming is a learned skill for most dogs. While many dogs naturally enjoy the water, they often need guidance to develop good balance and efficient movement. His confidence is growing with every outing.

Today was Vanya's very first river adventure, and she impressed me so much. She happily ventured into the water, gave swimming a try, and while there was definitely some puppy paddling and chopping at the water involved, she kept trying and made great progress. It was such a fun first experience for her.

Watching young dogs build confidence, learn new skills, and simply enjoy being dogs is one of the best parts of raising them. It was the perfect way to spend a hot summer afternoon, and I couldn't be prouder of all three of them. ❤️
