Talbert Derangement Syndrome

Every day, so-called MAGA Christian Trump supporters unleash a stream of racist hatred, slurs, and vile attacks on a Black preacher’s voicemail at a Black church. Think about that. These cream cheese cretins are so triggered by a Black man speaking against racism, white supremacy, and injustice that they take the time to track down my church’s phone number and leave message after message filled with venom and ignorance.

The Trump Administration’s Department of Justice talks about protecting churches. Apparently that concern applies selectively. White evangelical churches and Trump allies get attention, while racist harassment directed at Black churches and Black clergy is ignored.

The same people screaming about “Trump Derangement Syndrome” seem unable to stop obsessing over Black people who refuse to be silent. My social media comments, email inbox, voicemail, and direct messages are filled with angry white people who cannot handle the fact that they can no longer intimidate Black voices into submission.

What you’re about to hear is not an isolated incident. It is a window into the demonic mindset that still fuels racism in America. It is what happens when grievance, resentment, and white supremacy are baptized in religion and wrapped in a MAGA flag.

These callers wanted to intimidate me. Instead, they exposed themselves.

Listen carefully. This is what racism sounds like when it thinks nobody is watching.

MAGA is a demonic force of evil.

On my radio program, I played a voicemail left on my church phone by a person so consumed with racism that they took the time to search for our number, call a church, and leave a hateful message filled with racist slurs and contempt for Black people.

Think about that.

A grown man searched to find our church‘s phone number, got up early in the morning, and decided that leaving a vitriolic, profanity laced, racist voicemail was the best use of their day.

That’s not strength. That’s not Christianity. That’s not patriotism. That’s not a difference of opinion. That’s sickness.

Racism is not simply an opinion. It is a moral and spiritual disease that distorts how people see God, themselves, and other human beings created in God’s image.

The sad reality is that there are people so consumed by hatred that the mere sight of Black people living, succeeding, worshipping, or speaking truth sends them into a rage.

But hatred never has the final word.

We will keep preaching. We will keep fighting for justice. We will keep affirming Black humanity. And we will not be intimidated by sick people hiding behind phones, keyboards, and anonymous messages.
