Thank you to all who have reached out during Hurricane Helene. She was tough and strong, but we are okay. There are trees and power lines everywhere, and most in our community were not prepared for the shift she took East. We do not have power and will not for some time. Cell service is very unpredictable right now so it is not always easy to respond. We have a generator and our family and animals are safe. One of our goat areas lost their home - it was competely destroyed. I am so proud of our LGD’s and their instinct to guide their goats to safety and nobody was harmed. They were guided to another goat shelter on our property where they are now safe and happy. We are very grateful to still have our family, home, animals, and vehicles unharmed…our heart goes out to all who weren’t so lucky. Many in our neighborhoods were impacted seriously - losing homes and vehicles, few even their lives. Praying for all of you still in her path 🙏🏼

How do you entertain your kids in the summer?
Lots of hotdogs, popsicles, swimming, ice cream, games, shopping, movies, some bickering, and most importantly try to find time to take them to do something helpful and rewarding. Yesterday we went shopping for our local shelter and they each put together a gift bag of donations. Toys, food, treats, blankets, monetary donations, or anything on their wish list. These are usually posted publicly. We visited the dogs and sponsored a dog to help motivate adopters and we will spend some time today getting the word out. Then we will go out to celebrate their hard work and empathy by watching the Garfield movie.
