A crochet tutorial for you all…
Hey Crochet Friends! Would you go back and fix the mistake?
If it’s 10 rows back, I’ll only go back to fix it if it’s going to throw off the rest of the pattern…like if I’m making a garment. If it’s not noticeable by anyone other than a crocheter, I’ll leave it and carry on and I’ll fix the pattern in the next rows to make it work. However, if it’s an item for a customer, I’ll always frog back and fix it.
Wonderful video instructing how to tie this knot when joining two strands of yarn together.

So thrilled for this young man!!!
Why do we still so often put creativity into “boy” and “girl” boxes?
Fourth-grader Max Alexander from Los Angeles has followed his passion and look at the results. He already has his own design label, a team, millions of followers, and runway shows proving that when kids follow their curiosity, amazing things can happen.
He shared, “My collection consists of 15 dresses and about 90 percent of the show is biodegradable, recyclable, or made from dead stock,” Max explained. Dead stock is leftover fabric companies would normally throw away. Max rescues it and turns it into something new.
Max is creating in a space where people still try to tell kids what they should or shouldn’t be interested in based on thei gender. Fashion, imagination, and self-expression don’t belong to boys or girls. They belong to anyone curious enough to try. And when kids are allowed to explore what excites them, without someone telling them it’s “not for them”, that’s when creativity really takes off.
Check out this (soon to be) new business in the area. There’s a giveaway running that features gift certificates from 2 local businesses (mine is one of them). Please check out Sweet Ann Home Care and help them build their audience.

Today is a holiday here in Nova Scotia. I'm doing a bit of work this morning.
I have 5 patterns that will fit this hat for children up to 3 years old... I suggested in the pattern that we switch to Red Heart Super Saver and ran new samples last night. One of the hats is way out of alignment, and upon examining the yarn, I noticed it's a bit thicker in one colour.
It's leading me to think I really need to stress the importance of a gauge check in the pattern(s) for this design, as this may be an entry-level design for new crocheters. I know Yarnspirations is big on gauge checking. I originally used Red Heart Soft Baby Steps for the sample, but just jumping to Red Heart Super Saver won't cut it... I need to reduce my hook, but I need to convey that visually.
These hats will nest inside each other, with sizing changes for each age group.
