It’s a slow climb, but visibility is increasing. What I love most is that the content I create brings people to praise God and celebrate the truth of His Word. It goes to show that we can be used by God in any season in life as long as we’re willing to be used!
Some of us have a problem viewing Instagram “perfect” pictures or videos and coming away feeling “less than.” But is the problem with social media, or is there something going on in our own hearts that social media is revealing?
When one is confident with the lifestyle they’ve created for themselves or their families, comparison becomes irrelevant. Even if the images, concepts, or videos being depicted are unrealistic, it becomes a no brainer to dismiss when one is content with their own reality.
Comparison tendencies stem from insecurities about one’s own decisions. If we don’t like something about our lives, we have the ability to get help, change it, or surrender ourselves to God and learn how to embrace contentment surrounded by imperfect.
The beauty of humanity is that we are all different, we have so much to offer each other through our differences. AND we don’t have to stay stuck somewhere if we don’t like the life we are creating for ourselves. Even if our circumstances can’t change, our outlook on life can.
If you deal with insecurity bred from comparing your life to other’s, I pray you remember that you are a beloved child of God. We are called to do things with excellence, but even when we fall short, we are not loved or valued any less by our Father. And that’s what matters most!
Colossians 3:17 ~ And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
I’m seeing generational gaps of pride that easily become a hinderance to what the Holy Spirit is wanting to do in and through each of us.
God gives unique insight and wisdom to differing ages, which continue to shift and change over the years as we mature in age. However, just because we mature in age, that growth doesn’t always align with our spiritual or emotional maturity. That part of our growth is subject to what we allow the Holy Spirit to work in us. Sometimes we can mature in these areas well beyond our age.
Instead of looking down on the young for their lack of insight or down on the elderly for their lack of relevance, what if we truly listened and learned from each other? What if we became cheerleaders for what others are sharing that is good instead of critics of all that we feel superior in?
1 Timothy 5:1-2 ~ Do not rebuke an older man but encourage him as you would a father, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, in all purity.
It is wise to open yourself up to a wide range of friendships to promote growth from functioning well around differing perspectives and learning from them; however, we must keep in mind that the top five people with whom we spend the majority of our time with will greatly shape who we are/who we’ll become. This being the case, it is best to choose Godly, truth and grace-filled individuals to pour life into us. If we surround ourselves with secular, depressed, or constantly anxious individuals, these behaviors and mindsets will undoubtedly seep into our being and weaken our faith.
Proverbs 13:20 ~
Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
I didn’t expect the comments I received after re-posting about the dangers of using the enneagram yesterday. I don’t want to create any unnecessary friction, but if you want to know my take on the issue and do a deeper dig into what Scripture has to say in response to some of the interesting ideas presented, go check out my YouTube channel.
May the peace of God bring us into His truth and protect us from the evil one!

I know many innocent have engaged in using the enneagram, including myself at one point many years ago. It’s concerning how easily we can latch onto “trends” without realizing what spirits are attached to it and who is behind the curtain. If you don’t already know, I encourage you to research the enneagram from a Christian perspective and discontinue promoting it immediately!
Jackie Hill Perry used to promote the Enneagram. After two days of research, she called it "legitimately doctrines of demons, divination, witchcraft." She then publicly apologized for ever recommending it. Still using the Enneagram in your church or small group? https://churchleaders.com/christianity/442308-demonic-jackie-hill-perry-renounces-enneagram-told-god-i-am-sorry-for-promoting-it.html

I’m so grateful for friends and family who are dedicated to help spread the message of “Weary Souls” into other states. My distant second cousin once removed (or something like that), Kris Lindler, has taken up the mission to leave info postcards in different environments. The support is overwhelming!! 🙌🏻

I hosted a yard sale today and set my book and postcards out for visibility. Three people said they had heard about my book already, which is hugely encouraging since I don’t have a marketing budget and am just “winging it” most of the time.
It’s a rough living out there for us authors, but to all the other authors out there, keep the faith and keep on pressing on!

I have no budget for advertising, so things like this are the best I can do. 😅
