At 15, I left home. A big part of that decision was simple- I needed stability. I moved in with my best friend, and from the outside, it looked like the kind of life I wanted. In a lot of ways, it was better, but it wasn’t without its own challenges. I was still a teenager making decisions that carried weight I didn’t fully understand. I found faith. I stayed busy. I took on responsibility early. I also made mistakes and buried a lot instead of processing it. I don’t carry many regrets. It got me out of a situation I needed to leave, but it was a lot for a young person to carry.
