Fancy Something Yummy

A simple, but oh so beautiful, fruit cake for a 100th birthday! Yes, you read that correctly…ONE HUNDRED! 🥰
It also seems like a nice way to bring the Fancy Something Yummy journey to an end (for now anyway) and announce a little hiatus.
I started this business 10 months ago having been made redundant. Having my own home baking business was always a bit of a pipe dream, so I thought I’d use the opportunity of redundancy to make the dream a reality. I have loved making all the yummy treats (and apparently my waistline has loved eating some of them too) for you all, but it has also made me realise that the saying ‘Do something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life’ is not true for all personalities. I have never worked harder. I also miss making something for the simple pleasure of gifting it to someone else.
So… this account will stay open and I am registered and insured until August, but after that is unknown.
This certainly won’t be the last cake I make, but it may well be the last I have to do in a very regimented business fashion. If the FSY doors open for business again later on down the line, I will do things a little differently, and for now I can honestly say I’m looking forward to making cakes for the simple joy of making them.
