Hey yall! I’m your best friend Daniel Merry and I’ve been a part of Team March of the Pigs since 2023 after YEARS of my friends on the team begging me to join. Yep, I’m kicking myself for waiting so long.

Outside of Hogs For The Cause, you’ll find me at home raising 2 amazing kids with my amazing wife.
Orrr you’ll find me with a microphone in my hand while either hosting The Northshore Beer Fest or performing with my band ThroughWhatwas. I’m also the Director of various things at Chafunkta Brewing Company. I like to tell people “I may not have a lot of hair, but I wear a lot of hats!”

I joined MOP because I have several close friends on the team, but what I quickly found out is that the WHY is more important than anything.
WHY we work hard to raise money is because there are people out there that absolutely need help. Parents my age, with kids my kids’ age, facing something as devastating as pediatric brain cancer… that’s why I keep coming back.

During Hogs season, nothing else exists. I take off work. I barely see my family.
But I sleep better afterward, knowing the sacrifices we make as a team mean something.
Knowing our efforts aren’t for nothing

Like everyone else on this team, I help orchestrate events outside of Hogs to raise money and lend a hand wherever I’m needed.
I may not be the guy who builds entire structures or fixes things when they break, but I’m one hell of a hype man, and I hold it down on the fry station.

To be part of a Hogs for the Cause team that’s raised over ONE MILLION DOLLARS is profound. I don’t feel worthy! But, knowing I’ve helped that number grow? That’s an amazing feeling.
If you’ve been asked to join a Hogs for the Cause team, don’t do what I did. Don’t wait.
Join ASAP. You’ll find your WHY real quick.

This entire team does a great job in fundraising and collecting sponsors. We are well aware that everyone has their own issues, and money may be tight. We never ask for an absurd amount of money.

Even if you don’t/can’t join a Hogs for the Cause team, you should still attend the festival. My advice? COME HUNGRY! SPEND MONEY! BRING FRIENDS! Come have a good time knowing that your money is going to a great cause, Hogs for the Cause.
