We are a nonprofit, all volunteer group of local people who have the passion to find the lost and missing. We train often to sharpen our skills in Ground Tracking, Quad Searching, K9 Training, Horseback, GPS, Maps, First Aid, and Survival. It was slim pickens this morning for the NCSAR K9 team! But we still train! Here is a wee video of K9 Puff finding our wonderful subject, Laurie! We started at 0630 with temps in hi 60s and finished in the low 80s. Could not ask for a better morning.

With the fiscal year of Navajo County Search and Rescue team coming to an end, we will soon be starting the '26-'27 year with new leadership, and the same great focus. With the elections that happened recently, we will have some new people in different roles (to be announced soon).
All of us with Navajo County Search and Rescue want to thank our Captain Laurie for her great service of leadership to our team since March 17th, 2016, and her continuing volunteer role! Her closing statement as Captain for all of us was, "This team has come so far from the time I joined in 2010. Together we have built a great SAR team, a resource of skilled, educated, responsible volunteers, ready for any mission in Navajo County or any other County in the State of Arizona."
Thank you Laurie for everything you've done as a Captain, and will continue to do for our team as a member who gets to sit in the back. 😉🖤🤍❤️ 🆘🚁🔍
This morning, the NCSAR K9 team went back to foundations and worked on their TFR (Indications) We started with Hot boxes and solidified their TFR, then added negative boxes and animal bones. After working on that, we advanced to elevated finds and worked on thier TFR. We then introduced a new source and all the K9s did great. Puppy Smaug was introduced to new elements and did great! It's always important to go back to foundation work periodically. Great work, team!
