Awakening Chandra

When I left my corporate job and broke off an engagement in order to move in a direction more aligned with what I desired out of life—versus what was scripted by expectations—my first impulse was to turn to travel.

Of course I wanted to see cool sh*t, but a part of me craved something deeper than just a change of scenery. I knew I needed expansion and to be shown different ways of living by real people who aren’t afraid to think differently.

It’s not because there was anything wrong with where I came from, but because so much of what underlied daily life felt hollow, performative, and disconnected from the heart: going through the motions, chasing thrills through TV, burning time.

Travel is what opened my eyes to the limitless potential we have, and the sheer breadth of choice that exists for us as humans—if we are willing to take radical responsibility for our lives.

And now? Travel continues to be one of my favorite ways to come home to myself, as ironic as that may sound…

Because while it expands me through what I see, feel, and experience, it also grounds me back into the part of me that chose this path in the first place:

Alive,
Hungry,
Turned-on,
Available for more.
