There are parts of this job that happen in front of the camera… and parts most people never see.

I received this messages that said:
“I can’t stand listening to you…”
“Shut up…”

I won’t repeat the rest but I will say this: words matter.

As journalists, our responsibility is to inform, to serve, and to show up for our communities every single day regardless of background, belief, or opinion. That commitment doesn’t change, even when the feedback we receive is difficult, or even hurtful.

But moments like this are a reminder of something bigger.

We all have a choice in how we show up online and in person. We can disagree. We can challenge ideas. But we can do it with respect, with humanity, and with intention.

To anyone reading, especially young people who may be navigating their own paths: don’t let someone else’s words define your worth or your voice. Stay focused on your purpose. Lead with integrity. And when given the choice, always choose to lift others up.

I’ll continue to do the job I love serving this community with fairness, respect, compassion and care.

Because that’s what matters most.

He is risen!

The tomb is empty and that changes everything.

What once held sorrow now holds hope. What once held death now declares life.

Today we remember the power of resurrection, the love that conquered the grave, and the promise that we are never alone.

He’s not there… because He lives.

Happy Resurrection Sunday. ✝️

Happy National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day!

The average American will have eaten 2,000 PB&J’s by the time they graduate high school.

I for sure have surpassed that!
