On the 10 o'clock news last night. Thank you KSHB for the feature.

Artists and athletes aren’t often associated with one another, but a new exhibition at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art hopes to challenge that.

“With Kansas City taking the center of the world stage for the World Cup this coming summer, we wanted to be sure that we could bring something special to the Nelson-Atkins,” said Stephanie Fox Knappe, Nelson-Atkins curator.

Scoot and I had the best night, checking out the Lidded Vessel Invitational - so much incredible work by 120+ amazing artists. It was too much to take in on opening night so we plan to go back. I highly recommend it if you’re in the area.

We also went to the PBR Outlaw Days show: a 10/10 experience. I am not a Christian or a cowboy but appreciated the unity when the entire arena said a prayer for all the riders protection. I also appreciated that, in spite of having regional divisions, everyone was cheering the skill of the riders, rather than where they were from or who they represented. I loved every second of it: the skill of the cowboy on the gorgeous American quarter horse who lassoed the bulls when they went rogue, the incredible situational awareness of the rodeo clowns, the different personalities and difficulty level of the bulls… I was completely awed. I’ve watched it on TV for many years but the experience of seeing it live was next level and I can’t wait to go a hundred more times.
