I visited with Robert Frank today at his home. There may be no person alive whose vision has touched me more than his. He was very happy to receive a signed copy of my new book "French Kiss-A Love Letter to Paris" and expressed strong liking as well for my brother David and my book "McClellan Street". I mentioned to Robert that the visual expression of his book the "Americans" has always touched me so much because it is a poetic response to what came across his path, rather than the result of his going out and looking for moments, or looking to prove a point with an image, and he responded very simply and powerfully, "often moments come looking for us". At the age of 90, he is one of the living giants of this world, and one of my true heroes.
