A quiet part of growth that people do not talk about enough:
you can deeply love who you once were,
and still know you cannot return there.
Some versions of us were built for survival.

Some were built to protect wounds we no longer carry.
And sometimes becoming yourself means grieving the identities that once kept you safe.

PCOS was never just about “cysts.”
That is why the condition is being reframed as PMOS: polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome.
The old name made it sound like an ovarian issue. But the research has always pointed to something much bigger: hormones, insulin signaling, metabolism, inflammation, skin, mood, ovulation, and long-term cardiometabolic health.
Many people with PCOS do not even have true ovarian cysts — and many of the most disruptive symptoms happen far beyond the ovaries.
PMOS names the pattern more accurately, not just a symptom.
