Time for a life announcement ๐Ÿ’›

Today is my last day at KING 5. I am incredibly grateful for my nearly four years at KING 5, they have been some of the best years of my life.

I am so thankful for my coworkers, managers, and the entire KING 5 team that does important work every single day to tell the stories that matter.

I am especially grateful for the community members and families who allowed me to share their stories. Many times I was meeting people on the worst days of their lives and they trusted me to share their stories, and that is something I do not take lightly.

What I have learned over these past four years is that people are resilient, there is much more good in the world than bad, and that human connection is imperative. Communities need to be connected, a variety of perspectives need to be heard, and local journalism is key to making sure everyone has a voice.

Stories have power. They have the power to make you feel something, the power to connect people, the power to inform, and the power to make change.

I spent my first two years at KING covering news in Seattle, and spent my most recent two years as the Pierce County Bureau Chief focusing on telling the stories of people in Tacoma and Pierce County. I want to thank bureau photojournalist Jordan Treece for being the best storytelling partner I could ask for. Tacoma is such a special place and it was a blessing to cover news there each day with him.

I am so honored to have told the stories of people in Western Washington.

Thank you ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ
