Our January Sigma Beta Club Meeting featured a special guest, Mr. Michael Jay Taylor, better known as Mr. Socks who has donated more than 57k pairs of socks to homeless in the Seattle, Reno and communities within Oregon and California. Mr. Socks shared his story of Servant-leadership and Volunteerism with our young men as well as shared in our discussion on Role Models.

Along side of this year's Conclave, on the campus of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, the National Sigma Beta Club Foundation sponsored the 2017 National Sigma Beta Club Leadership Conference hosting Sigma Betas and Advisors from across the country. As part of the Conference, the Board of Directors of the Foundation were honored to award the top Sigma Beta Clubs and Sigma Beta Club members within the Regions as well as Nationally awards in recognition of their exemplary service and accomplishments during the past year.

For the Western Region, the Seattle Sigma Beta Club of the Epsilon Epsilon Sigma Chapter took home the Regional Club of the Year award highlighting the work performed by the members to participate in the programs and initiatives advised by the Foundation. In addition, members of the Club also took home the Western Regional as well as the National awards for the top Sigma Beta Club members. Mr Myles Heyward, President of the Seattle Sigma Beta Club took the awards for the "Sigma Beta of the Year" for the 14 - 18 year old category and Mr. Aaron Heisser. Club Secretary, took the same Regional and National awards for the 8 - 13 year old category. In addition, Mr Heyward was also the recipient of on of the "Bro. Marco McMilliam Memorial Scholarships".
