This design was created by Kii Johnson (bio below) and inspired by my own diamond back rattle snake tattoo. While the snake is often seen as deceiving and bad luck in western culture, snakes are seen as cunning, powerful, and protectors in Choctaw culture. The design represents myself, my music, my djing, being wrapped by power and culture. It also helps that the design just looks badass 😉

Artist: Hodokii or Kii Johnson is a Mvskoke + Cheyenne and Arapaho artist based in Tulsa, OK. They specialize in hand-poked ancestral markings and also work at a Tulsa shop as a Licensed Tattoo Apprentice. Kii is passionate about the sacred art of tattooing and connecting with others through their work.
