Meet the author of A Basic Deal, Tom Teicher. For 10 years Tom served as the Housing Contracts Manager at Downtown Emergency Service Center, a nonprofit agency that helps reduce homelessness in Seattle. For the 12 years prior to that, he was the Executive Director of Interaction Transition, an organization that helps ex-felons re-integrate into the community upon their release from prison. Tom received a bachelor's degree from Kenyon College, a law degree from Vanderbilt University, and an MBA from the University of Washington. A native of New York City and its environs, Tom now resides in Seattle, WA.
