Pressure continues to grow on The Home Depot to address toxic PVC plastic.

Leading up to today’s shareholder meeting, frontline communities, public health advocates, and investors at As You Sow and Domini Impact Investments called on the company to phase out PVC, the “poison plastic” linked to toxic pollution and serious health harms.

The Home Depot has already shown progress is possible by removing PVC from private-label packaging. But the company still hasn’t committed to eliminating PVC from its brand-name packaging and products sold in stores.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's proposal to roll back protections from toxic PFAS “forever chemicals” in drinking water puts the interests of the chemical industry ahead of the health of families and communities.

PFAS are linked to serious health harms including cancer, immune system damage, and developmental risks. People should not have to worry that the water coming from their tap could make them sick.

EPA’s job is to protect public health, not weaken safeguards from dangerous chemicals that contaminate drinking water across the country.
