🏀 Would NIL money make you think twice about going pro early?
Cameron Boozer is reportedly already around $2.2 million per year in NIL value.
And here’s where it gets really interesting…
At Duke University — with national exposure, TV games, March Madness — that number likely goes up every year he stays.
⸻
Let’s play this out:
• Stays 4 years
• NIL value continues to grow
• Averages $4 million per year
👉 That’s $16 million total
After taxes:
👉 About $10 million in the bank
⸻
Now think about this…
You’re in college:
• Scholarship athlete
• Most expenses covered
• Getting stronger, better, more NBA-ready
• Building your brand every year
👉 You graduate at 22 years old with:
• A degree
• A polished game
• And $10 million saved
⸻
So what would YOU do?
đź’¬ Go pro as soon as possible?
đź’¬ Or stay, develop, and walk into the league already financially secure?
⸻
This isn’t just basketball anymore…
It’s a business decision.

TKR Recovery – Day 10
Important medical update for anyone considering knee replacement surgery:
Do NOT try to be a hero.
Last week I decided to stop taking the stronger pain meds because…well…tough guy logic.
Result: miserable weekend, no sleep, and PT was about as fun as a root canal.
So I listened to my doctor (finally), restarted the pain control regimen with oxycodone + tramadol, and surprise… PT actually works when you aren’t fighting pain the entire time.
Today (10 days off the table):
• Strong PT session in our building’s gym following 10 PT routines with 10 reps/3 sets
• 5 sets of real pushups (upper body still works!)
• 10 minutes on the upright bike holding ~70 RPM
• Modest “hills” (-1 to +1) just to remind the knee who’s boss
Lesson learned:
Stay ahead of the pain so you can stay ahead of the rehab.
Progress continues… and yes, the bike ride today was through a virtual dragon village. Apparently my knee replacement came with international travel.
