Meet your new best friend, Betsy! 🐶

🐾 7 Months Old
🐾 Female

Hi, I’m Betsy! I’m the sweetest and prettiest girl, at least that’s what everyone who has met me says! I am currently living with my foster Mom and three resident pups. I get along great with them and love having canine pals, too! Looking for a puppy that is good with kids? I am good with kids and very loyal to my people. I sleep through the night, am great in the car, and such a cuddle bug. All amazing things to have when you are a young pup! I learned the commands ā€˜sit’ and ā€˜no’ in a day, so I’m pretty smart too. I'm still working on the potty training but I do great on the potty pad. I can’t wait to show off my skills and to meet you!

🚨WE DESPERATELY NEED FOSTERS🚨THE SHELTERS ARE LITERALLY OVERFLOWINGšŸ˜ž

We are looking for individuals or families who can help save a life by fostering! You need to commit to foster your dog until they find their forever home.

Fostering will be one of the most rewarding things you will ever do. You are choosing to help us save a precious lifeā¤ļø

When you open your home to a foster dog, you aren't just letting a pet stay with you for a few weeks—you are literally saving a life.

What CDR will provide:
Vet care & medical costs
Food, crates, and necessary supplies
Support from our knowledgeable volunteers

What You Provide:
A safe place for them to stay
A temporary home
Love, patience, and routineā¤ļø
You don't have to adopt to make a huge impact

Sometimes, the most important chapter in a dog's story is the foster family who gave them a second chance.

Whether you can foster a puppy, adult, a big dog or small, we need you. Won't you help to give one deserving dog their second chance?

🐾 Jezebel was already let down once. Let's not make it twice. 🐾

This sweet chocolate lab mix (about 1.5 years old) was found wandering as a stray — no collar, no family looking for her, no idea how she ended up alone. And just when safety was within reach, a previous rescue commitment fell thru at the very last minute.

Now she's counting on us.
Here's what you need to know about this gorgeous girl: she's affectionate, easygoing, and gets along great with people and other dogs (cats are still a question mark). She did test positive for heart worm, which means her foster home will need to keep her activity low-key during treatment — think cozy couch time over zoomies at the dog park.

The good news? CDR covers 100% of her medical costs. Your job is just to give her a quiet, loving place to heal.
She's set to make the trip up to Chicago on 7/11/2026 — but only if a foster steps up. Without one, she has nowhere to go.

Meet your new best friend, Xena! 🐶

🐾 8 Months Old
🐾 Female

Hello! My name is Xena—like the warrior princess. I’m smart, beautiful and ready to find a home of my very own. I’m a Great Pyrenees mix, which means I’m an affectionately, calm ā€œgentle giantā€ who loves my people and will always keep a watchful eye on my family. I do require consistent training due to an independent nature and need secure fencing because of a natural urge to roam, but good thing CDR provides free training as part of the adoption fee. I’ve also got a gorgeous, fluffy double coat that needs regular brushing to keep me looking my best—and I’ll grow into a BIG, stunning girl.
