UPDATE: PB left the building for a foster to adopt this morning!
URGENT: Peanut Butter (“PB”) desperately needs a committed foster or adopter. 🖤🤎
PB is a 1 year old Rottweiler girl who has now spent 64 days sitting in a shelter kennel waiting for someone to give her a chance.
And time is not on her side.
PB struggles with barrier frustration and kennel reactivity, which means she becomes overwhelmed and reactive when people approach her kennel. Unfortunately, that behavior causes people to overlook her, despite the fact that many dogs act completely different once out of the shelter environment.
If you know Rottweilers, you know that a 1 year old Rottie is still very much a baby. She’s still learning emotional regulation, impulse control, confidence, and how to navigate the world around her.
The problem is: She’s trying to learn all of that from behind kennel bars in a loud, high-stress environment, and to top it all off, she hasn't had a human to help her learn!
Dogs like PB often continue to mentally decline the longer they remain in the shelter. What people are seeing may very well be stress and confinement, not her true personality.
We want to help this girl. We are willing to go evaluate her and assess her needs, temperament, and placement potential, but we cannot move forward or do anything for PB until we have a committed foster, foster-to-adopt, or adopter in place.
Right now, that is the missing piece.
Without somewhere for her to go, our hands are tied.
Please, if you have experience with large breeds, working breeds, or are willing to give a young dog a real chance, reach out. Even fostering could completely change the course of this dog’s life.
64 days is already far too long for a 1 year old dog to spend growing up in a kennel.

Today we wanted to highlight our best girl, Juicy, or as we lovingly call her, JJ 🍒
JJ is the definition of an easy companion, especially for a 10 month old pup.
She’s social without being overwhelming, affectionate without being pushy, and adaptable in a way that makes her incredibly easy to bring into everyday life.
Whether it’s baseball games, walks around the neighborhood, patio hangs, road trips, or quiet evenings at home, JJ settles in beautifully and genuinely enjoys just being with her people.
From a behavioral standpoint, she has a very balanced temperament. She’s thoughtful, stable, and easygoing, with a calm presence that makes her enjoyable to live with both in and outside of the home.
She doesn’t need constant entertainment or chaos to be fulfilled, she’s happiest simply being included. This girl is fully crate trained, potty trained, and has been mastering her advanced obedience, off leash reliability, and public access skills.
Dogs like JJ are special because they fit naturally into so many lifestyles. She has the kind of personality that makes people say, “She’s just a really good dog.”
And honestly? She really is. 🍒💛
