The children of foster care who we serve have often experienced more uncertainty, loss, and change than any child should have to carry.

That's why we celebrate the small things.

A feeling of safety. A chance to dream. Making a wish. A reminder that they are still kids. A moment of wonder.

Because healing isn't always found in the big milestones. Sometimes it happens quietly, in the ordinary moments that help a child feel seen, valued, and hopeful again.

✨ What small moment brought you joy this week? ✨

Reunification is the first goal in foster care, but it's often one of the least understood. This Reunification Month, we're sharing what it means, why it matters, and why supporting families through both separation and reunification is so important.

When families have the resources, support, and opportunities they need to heal, children have a greater chance of growing up connected to the people they love.

We showed up at Sonoma County Pride today because every young person deserves to know they belong and are accepted.

Did you know that LGBTQ+ youth are significantly overrepresented in foster care, making up nearly 30% of youth in care while representing a much smaller percentage of the general youth population?

At Our Village Closet, we believe every youth deserves to feel seen, valued, safe, and celebrated for exactly who they are. That's why we're grateful to be part of a community that shows up, embraces differences, and creates spaces where young people know they belong.

🤍 Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth today. 🤍

🧺 LOADS of love needed! 🧺

Our amazing OVC “Laundry Angels” help wash, sort, and refresh clothing/fabric donations so youth and families impacted by foster care can shop in a clean, welcoming, dignity-filled space. And we are SO GRATEFUL!!

Right now, we have over 20 laundry bins READY for pickup… and we’re hoping someone can help us lighten the load. 😉

This simple act makes a huge difference. Every washed hoodie, cozy pajama set, tiny onesie, and favorite pair of jeans becomes part of helping a child feel safe, cared for, and seen, and their caregivers supported.

💛 Pick up a bin during open hours
💛 Wash & dry the items
💛 Return them ready for the Resource Center

It’s one of the easiest ways to make a tangible impact for children and caregivers in our community.

It's easy! It's fun!
