PERSONAL UPDATE: As many of you know, Judah, our Mancub 3, was in a serious mountain biking accident in September ‘24. A few months ago, despite PT, his ongoing pain and the prescription medication required to address it prompted him to seek further clarity on his healing.

After several MRIs and CTs, we discovered the screws in his spine were loose and breaching his spinal canal. As you can imagine, we were pretty distraught.

But, the Lord provided unexpected connections, counsel, and referrals, and we found a great specialist who helped us form a plan for another surgery to remove failed hardware from the first surgery.

👉🏼 Today was the day: Judah successfully made it through a second spine surgery and all of the hardware was removed.

Truly, it was a scheduling miracle, because he really wants to be walking normally at his big brother’s wedding in 5 weeks. 😉 He still has a long road of healing ahead, and the neurosurgeon is monitoring his progress for next steps, but we are feeling grateful and hopeful.

In general, the Simons family would appreciate your prayers… If I’m honest, Judah’s healing, along with a few other behind-the-scenes prayer requests are adding up to feel like more-than-I-can-handle.

And yet, I’m reminded that “too much” is an opportunity to discover God’s sufficiency… an opportunity to practice the way of dependence. So pray that we’d know and find Jesus to be more than enough for all we can’t handle in our own strength. 🙏

May we keep praising Him—right now, in the middle of these and the other not-yet wonderful stories in our lives. Because when we choose to praise, we’re choosing to fight, pushing back the darkness that tries to take us down. 👊🏼
